Spring 2014 Newsletter

It has been long, cold and snowy winter, but the days are getting longer and we are finally getting an occasional glimpse of the good weather to come.  Despite the difficult weather the Doctors and staff at the hospital have stayed very busy.

The Santana Fund, a fund created by the Animal Hospital of Orleans to provide necessary medical care for sick or stray patients who need financial assistance, now has its own Facebook page. If you are a Facebook member, search for “Santana Fund” to visit the new page. If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to “like” the hospital’s page too – for news, pet care tips, and some entertaining pet photos.

Paws on Ice:

Dr. Bohon, her husband Chip, office manager Renee Lincoln, and kennel manager Jen Plusch had a good time at the Animal Rescue League’s Paws on Ice  ice skating benefit.  For some of us, it was our first time on skates in years.   The Olympics didn’t come calling, but we think it went pretty well – and the proceeds from the event went to a very good cause.

  Santa Stampede:

Santa Stampede

Dr. Bohon took part in the inaugural running of the Chamber of Commerce sponsored “Santa Stampede”. The stampede is a 5k run with a twist – runners are encouraged to wear holiday costumes while running.  Dr. Bohon joined in the sprit of the event and ran the 5k in costume. (We think she makes a pretty good elf!)

Our Hospital also participated in the annual Orleans holiday decorating contest. There were a lot of creative displays around town so we are proud that our decorations won the second place prize!

A Special Thank You from Dr. Bohon

I would like to give a very enthusiastic Thank You! to the outstanding healthcare team at the Animal Hospital of Orleans.  Kristin, Melissa, Diane, Barbara, Susan, Jen, Jo, Anna, Renee & Dr. Larry – I appreciate the contributions that each of you makes every day. Working with such a dedicated group of professionals is one of the primary reasons I love my job and look forward to coming to work every day.  I would also like to extend my thank you to each of our clients. Meeting and working with you & your pets is the other reason I love this job!

  Karen Bohon, DVM.
